Mine arrived and had a similar problem to Chaos above.

However, I just had to file the magazine hole into a crescent shaped chamfer (shown in red on Chaos's picture above) and with a bit of a whack they fit and feed fine.

I got mine this morning.
I have 2 MP40 an early one and one I ordered late last year about October and these mags will not fit either.
The general appearance of them looks cheap compared to the original steel ones, as said above the hole is in the wrong position.

The ammunition release on the top is also about 1/3 the size of the old ones and looks fiddly and like it will brake :x
Also due to the way an MP40 mag is held in by a very shallow locking point I think the plastic will wear out.
MP40 mags fall out even when they are made of metal never mind worn plastic.

I would say they are worth about £25 to £30 for the 5.
It would be better if there was a kit to change the internals of an AGM.

Might be a nutty suggestion, but do the internals fit the original 50 rnd metal mags, so using the new ones as upgrade kit?

All glued together so would probably brake to take it apart
It has one steel pin near the top that will be to strip the spring out I would think as it must be a long U shape tube inside.
Maye its better to just get some pipe and a spring and make your own from an AGM.

See area where I have KA that is the spring service area I would think.

I may send mine back so they get the message they don't fit!

Or if anyone wants mine they can buy them off me at Autumn Mist for £35 these cost me £48 from Airsoft Armoury.

If you look at my photos and the earlier ones you will see there seems to be 2 types for some reason.
They are not like other mags the only way to open these would be with a hack saw or a hammer so not tempted to do so really.

If you go to B&Q you can get aluminium pipe with about 6mm ID if you heat it up you may be able to put a neat bend in it then find a long spring to fit inside. Then try fitting it in a mag just a thought.

Just received my MP40 mags today and I can confirm what other have said, they dont fit my AGM MP40 :( . The tops on mine look different to the pictures of the modified ones, but still they dont fit. So I'll be sending them back to Firesupport. Been one of those days, got a package from Epic and it had someone elses sergeant stripes in them, not my obergefreiter patch.

Well I did the mod that was suggested above... not difficult at all and I'm happy to have some nice big capacity mags...

BTW I counted the capacity and when filled up completely some took 130rnds rather than the advertised 110rnds

NOTE - Chaos's picture of the top of the mags, which I also used in my post, is taken looking through the magwell which was dismantled from the gun and placed on top of the magazine to diagnose the problem (I think, correct me if I'm wrong Chaos). So it might be that which makes them look different to your ones.

I found that there was really no need to do any complicated modding of the magwell section. Just file a crescent shaped 45 degree chamfer onto the feed hole in each magazine, next to the retention spring bit, and they will fit and feed fine. Mine do so far anyway but granted I haven't run a vast amount through them yet.

Of course, it beggars belief that King Arms managed to get the hole in the wrong place in the first place, and then carried on manufacturing regardless, no doubt relying on everybody getting the toolbox out instead of returning them. So maybe sending them back is best if only to make a point.

It's pretty much irrelevant to this discussion, but if you want to bend pipe, fill it with dried sand and cap the ends, then bend it. If you're heating it to bend it, make sure the capped ends aren't airtight, or it has a tendency to explode.

Yes, I finally twigged that the picture showed the magwell sleeve was on top of the mag, its been a long day

Did the mod and at least one of the new mags works, hooray :D

So thanks for the advice. Although it has to be said, as you say, its a shame they didnt get it right when they made them.

Didnt really want to send them back and buy a load of low cap mags.

I used my MP40 mids today for the first time in anger at the open day at F&O Matlock. They worked beautifully without a hitch.

Highly recommended!

Since I did the small mod to the magwell I don't even have to push them in harder... :)

The tommy mags seem fine (see previous posts on this thread).

Nige, to convert your MP40 to use the mags if it doesn't work with them already will take 5 mins and requires a knife and a small flat bladed screwdriver. I'll do it for you if you want.

It does not stop the ability to use the other mags and is barely visible even when you look in the mag well.
